Why the Acorn Stash?

“The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

acorns1200I’ve always been fascinated by trees. How the mightiest of oaks begins life as a tiny acorn; how the tallest of maples starts out as a little key. When I was little I used to plant them in our back yard and watch faithfully for signs of new life.

That’s what acorns are to me — signs of new life. So when, a few years back, a chatroom friend gave me the virtual gift of a gold acorn and told me to plant and nurture it carefully because it held my hopes and dreams along with the seed of a new oak tree, the idea for “The Acorn Stash” was born.

This is the second incarnation of the “Stash.” I wasn’t ready for it the first time around. And only time will tell what direction I’ll end up going and whether or not this journey will be a successful one. But I’m ready to embrace a new life for myself, and to help you plant the seeds for your own new life whatever they may be.

For now, I’m just happy to be here, and very grateful both for the second chance. I’m also grateful to you for sharing a moment or two along the way. :)
